It's the most wonderful time of the year...

It really is the best time of the year- although it always gets a bit hectic this time of the year, we're still so happy to make your holiday treats! It will be Christmas soon (ahem, 20 days!) and despite all the orders pouring in, we couldn't be happier to welcome this holiday season!
Even though we prepare for the Christmas rush every year, it's hard to pinpoint the day it will start. This year, it happened overnight. When I came to work last Wednesday, the shop smelled of Christmas- gingerbread was in the oven- and, when gingerbread is in the oven, every single person who walks through the door comments on the yummy smell wafting from our front door out onto the streets.
I could spend hours telling you about all the other yummy stuff we're making this Christmas, but I'll post about that later. Right now, lets talk about cupcakes- we love making 2 feature flavours every month. Variety is the spice of life! This month, you can look forward to both gingerbread cupcakes and Forrero Rocher cupcakes when you come in. You will most definitely remember both of these super flavours from last year. The gingerbread is a regular in our December repertoire: moist, spicy and Christmas-y. With either a chocolate buttercream or a chai spice buttercream on top. Of course, the Forrero Rocher is perfect for this time of the year- the only time they advertise their delicious chocolates. A rich chocolate cake with hazelnut ganache filling and hazelnut frosting. It tastes just like the holiday chocolate we all love- but better because it's a cupcake! Mmmm... you definitely need to try both!
